Called to Live in the NOW

Here we are on vacation, rainy day so we went for ice cream!!
Simple pleasure.... his treat for the "Shark Store" that you have to go to at Gulf Shores!
They loved the beach, another rainy morning they ran around in the carport area.

Summer is coming to and end, meaning Shannon is going back to work, but of course that does not mean we are getting any cooler weather or anything. Much fun and family time was spent these past few months and both kids are sad to see Daddy leave in the morning. I am trying to balence my time between the work I will be doing and being available to kids and keep order around here. I have not felt like cooking much, but Grant has been eating so much I have to keep lots of food handy! He must be growing because he eats all day, and not just snacks but real food!
I always swore I would never blog about potty training because I thought it was weird to talk so freely about your child's private time. But I will say this. Potty training sucks!! Especially with another child underfoot! I finally decided to be aggressive and bought pull ups and thankfully, in actually just 2 weeks of hard core training, James has really got the hang of it! No messy details, but the reward of him getting his very own "Mack" truck from the movie Cars was what kept him going and we just ordered it last night! Praise the Lord. Between him potting every 30 minutes and baby #3 seemingly living on my bladder, I am so glad of all rooms we redid our bathroom because we have spent a lot of time in it the past few weeks! :)
Another great reward for James was to use his "computer" (IPad) time as a reward and it was something he really wanted. He actually learned all his lowercase letters since he plays an educational game. Ha! If only he knew...
My latest article for Community Chronicles can be found here ... much excitement this month since it is the first month in print! Check out other great articles about Upper Lafayette businesses and people! Got to run. :)
